Bush said the final tax rebate plan is "robust, broad-based, timely, and it will be effective." This is "an example of bipartisan cooperation at a time when the American people most expect it."

According to MSNBC, "many say they plan to use the money to pay off debt, pay other tax bills or budget for higher expenses like food or gasoline." But those who do plan to spend it really should consider all that Canada has to offer.

"We believe the stimulus, the way it is targeted, will put money into the hands of those who will spend it immediately, injecting demand into the economy and therefore creating jobs," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., told colleagues.

The IRS has announced that it will start sending the economic stimulus tax rebate checks starting on May 2, with the first round of weekly payments to be completed by early July.
